About Tehran Gate ( Qazvin )

Old Tehran Gate or Old Tehran Gate is a historical gate with works of tile work and Qajar architecture and is located at the southeast entrance of Qazvin, at the end of Tehran-Karaj-Qazvin freeway.
Tehran Gate was registered as one of Iran’s national monuments on August 21, 1975 with registration number 392.
Tehran Gate has protected the city of Qazvin from attacks and theft and looting of other cities. In the beginning, this gate was built outside the city, but now due to the expansion of the population, it is located inside the city of Qazvin.
Qazvin had eight other gates in the past, namely Rasht Gate (west of the city, west side of Tabriz Street), Derb Koushk Gate (northeast of the city), Sheikh Abad Gate (northeast of the city, Saadi Street), Moghlawak Gate or Hamadan Gate (southwest of the city, Mughalwak neighborhood), Kandwar gate (southwest of the city, Prince Hossein), Savalan gate (southeast of the city, Prince Hossein), Rah Ri gate (southeast of the city, Sanjideh Mosque) and Panhriseh gate (east of the city, Taleghani Street).
Today, only two gates remain, Darb Kushk and Old Tehran. Old Tehran Gate is located on Old Tehran Street (Hashmi Square), and it is one of the buildings of the Qajar period, which was renovated and tiled in 1968.
