Sardar Mofkham’s mansion, which is considered one of the sights of Qazvin, is located in the historical context of the city center, on Red Crescent Street. This mansion, which is one of the two-story houses of Kushki, was built in the Qajar period and was registered in the list of national monuments of Iran in 1998. In the past, Sardar Mansion was used as Amir Kabir School and Amir Kabir Culture House, and its second floor was changed to the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qazvin province in August 2013.

History of The mansion of Sardar Mofkham Qazvin

Sardar Mansion was built by Prince Akbar Mirza, nicknamed Sardar Mofkham or Bisharat al-Sultaneh, who was a lawyer and representative of Qazvin in the fourth and fifth periods of the Constitutional Assembly. Princes and nobles used this building.
The mansion of Sardar Mofkham Qazvin was handed over to the judiciary before 1969, and after that it operated as Amir Kabir School between 1969 and 1990. In 1990, an earthquake occurred in Qazvin, which damaged the building. Later, the cultural heritage organization started its restoration and reconstruction operation, and after the completion of the reconstruction, the said mansion was finally registered in the national register in 1998. According to the agreements made between the Cultural Heritage Organization and the Ministry of Guidance, the Sardar mansion was handed over to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
The second floor of this luxurious house was changed to the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qazvin province in August 2013, and for this reason it is not possible to visit the inside. This office is the 18th representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, which performs all consular powers in the field of issuing visas, approving commercial and educational documents of foreign nationals, etc.

The architecture of Sardar Mofkham Qazvin’s mansion

Sardar Mansion is a two-story building that has an impressive interior design in addition to the spectacular facade that is different from three sides. This mansion was built under the influence of the architecture of the capital and it belongs to the time when Qajar architecture was transferred to Pahlavi in Qazvin.
The building of the mansion is located on the west side of the courtyard, and its remarkable point is the luxurious staircase located in the center. This staircase stands out right in front of the entrance hall and after a wide step, it splits into two branches and reaches the upper floor. This staircase on the second floor leads to a four-way corridor surrounded by a fence and decorative columns. Some of the mansion’s rooms are decorated with stucco with flower and leaf reliefs, the animal hunting hall and the goat hall, as well as decorative niches. 6 columns can be seen in the entrance area and porch of the second floor.
